As the cruise ship approaches the small harbor in Bessaker, you won’t be met by a busy tourist machine – but by authentic coastal culture and warm-hearted people. Coastal Host, together with the local community, is ready to greet guests in a genuine way – with smiles, the sound of waves, and live music drifting across the pier. Sometimes, even children and elderly stand side by side, waving as part of a cherished local ritual.
Throughout the visit, Coastal Host offers authentic experiences in small groups – climb the Vettan Staircase to the top and feel the wind from the open sea, discover fascinating history at the small museum, or join a nostalgic boat trip out to Skjervøy, where time seems to have stood still. Want to slow down and take it all in? Simply stroll along the shoreline or find a bench with a view of the sea.

Vi har sett og opplevd mye på vår ferd, men en dag ilag med dokker slår alt, å da meine eg ALT! Knut Johan Monkan og Per Anders Brattgjerd, uten dokker hadde vi bidd å passert på nytt. Men et sånn arrangement som dokker har vært med på står det respekt av! Eg kjenner langt inni hjerterota stoltheta av å fått muligheten te å være en del av en sånn stor dag. “Bessakerfølelsen” fikk vi virkelig føle på! Vi seile videre nord med et smil om munn og en følelse av lykke. Vi ønske oss tebake te Bessaker! Håpe vi sees igjen snart.

Et av de viktigste samarbeidsprosjektene vi i PLO har angående, er med “Bygdilag” med primus motor Knut Johan Monkan i spissen! Guidet omvisning, fantastisk servering og flotte opplevelser sto på programmet, og det var slitne men VELDIG fornøyde beboere som kom hjem etter dagens opplevelse!
